The Iomega UltraMax hard drive features three interfaces--FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0. FireWire 800 supports data transfer speeds of up to 800 Mbps. With two FireWire 800 ports, you can daisy chain a second FireWire 800 device as well. Additionally, this UltraMax drive also supports FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 for the utmost in compatibility, allowing you to move it from one computer to another with complete confidence. With FireWire 400, the drive supports speeds of up to 400 Mbps and with USB 2.0, the drive runs at 480 Mbps. The UltraMax Pro has hardware support for both RAID 0 and RAID 1. RAID 0 provides higher data throughput for maximum performance, and RAID 1 provides redundancy for extra security. The drive can also be manually switched to JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks).
