Box Set
Buffalo Spring is a 4-disc box set that traces the short yet influential career of Buffalo Springfield. Fronted by two of the most mercurially talented musicians and composers of their generation--Stephen Stills and Neil Young--Buffalo Springfield's career lasted just 25 months from April 1966 to May 1968. Their legend has long been sealed by two classic albums, the eponymous debut and Buffalo Springfield Again. Both are here in their entirety on the final CD of this set, but the real revelation is spread over the other 3 discs, which feature a total of 36 previously unreleased tracks. The demos for Buffalo favourites and songs that were later recorded for post-Springfield albums are an astonishing testimony to the intense creativity and sheer brilliance that powered the band. The highlights are everywhere--Stills's beautiful "So You've Got a Lover Now", Richie Furay's exuberant "What A Day", Young's "Flying on the Ground Is Wrong". Fans have long known that despite their short career, Buffalo Springfield ranked alongside the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys as major 1960s players. Now everyone else does too. --Gavin Martin Binding Audio CD. Artist(s): Buffalo Springfield. Publisher(s): Rhino-Atlantic. Label: Rhino-Atlantic.
